So you may ask what does Faith Without Works really mean? Most Christians avidly have faith in the word and it is completely the essence of their existence. However, many christians have misunderstood this quote found in James 2:14-26 and continue to do so.
Some think that one has to have works to receive the blessing of God, which is not true, while others think that Faith Without Works leads to a lack of salvation, which is not the case either. Salvation is the gift from God, this is the gift we receive as a result of Jesus Christ’s cruxifixction. So blessing or salvation has nothing to do with works.
Helping others to succeed in life, be it in business or personal development, can be very effective in bringing value to their lives. As we all know, life is too short and if we can give back in such a way as building others up, life becomes much more valuable. There is so much joy in watching others succeed in life which arises from one’s direct influence on others’ lives.
Most of us want to be successful and have the nicer things in life as we ought to, but most people are not ready to apply themselves in finding what to do in other to achieve greatness. Faith Without Works would not get us there, but the simple application of self to others would. This is actually what is required for us as christians to give to others. The saying goes, “it is better to give than to receive”!
So where are you today in your walk in faith? Do you practice Faith Without Works? As mentioned before giving is the most powerful ways of extending oneself to another and it most definitely does not have to be financial. A simple smile in acknowledgement of people around, a pleasant remark or even a genuine gesture of support maybe all it take to open the door in helping someone and depositing value in their lives. Try this and you will see for yourself!
We cannot be prosperous as biblically promised by doing nothing and thinking miraculously our situation will change. In other to come into the abundance as ambassadors of the kingdom we have to apply ourselves in the right areas by using wisdom and the power we have in us as christians.
So Faith Without Works, means that as christians we have to show Works in other to demonstrate our Faith. Therefore, works is the evidence of the faith that we have. We have faith in the word and God’s promise of abundance for us, but if we do not show works will be ineffective in demonstrating our faith.
